SPAIN | Mallorca: Exploring the Island

SPAIN | Mallorca: Exploring the Island

We arrived in Mallorca on a late Monday night after spending the weekend in Barcelona. Prior to the trip I did some researching to get an idea of how we should spend our days.  The island is quite big, on the west coast you will find the Tramuntana Mountain Ridge along the water and on the right side more calm beaches and coves.

SPAIN | Barcelona Day 3

SPAIN | Barcelona Day 3

On the list for our last day in Barcelona we did our own food tour at Mercado de La Boqueria, and then we visited La Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo. Knowing how much eating we would be doing at the food market, we started the day at Reebok Crossfit Barcelona.

Klassik Open Air Nuremberg

Klassik Open Air Nuremberg

One of the wonderful things about living in Nuremberg, is that there always seems to be some sort of an event going on in the city.  80% of the time... its a beer festival, or a street festival with a lot of beer, or a music festival... with more beer than music.  Which, the first few times.. is fun, but then you start to feel the effects of it and you look for events that still allow you to experience the culture AND be healthy!

The Klassik Open Air Nuremberg is a free outdoor classical concert where thousands of people come together and bring their own picnics to this massive park and listen to music under the stars. It takes place in Luitpoldhain Park... which this place has quite a history.

Summertime in Germany

Summertime in Germany

The weather has been unbelievably hot here in Germany this summer. (getting up to the high 90's). Now when we were back in the US I'd think "Ugh.. its so hot as i walk from my air conditioned house, to my air conditioned car, to drive to the air conditioned movie theater/mall/restaurant/etc". Wellllll... boy was I in for a surprise by moving here! Air conditioning?? That's what Germany calls a nice breeze. And your lucky if you get that

Summer Salad topped with Lemon Mustard Salmon

Summer Salad topped with Lemon Mustard Salmon

I've wanted to write a blog about my food and travels for quite some time now, but I had no idea WHICH recipe to start with. So instead of over analyzing to find that perfect recipe, I figured i'd start with what I just made tonight!

First, start with a good piece of salmon. Since we cook for dinner and lunch all at the same time, we typically go with 2lbs of meat.  One of the most important things to remember - line the baking sheet with foil! It will save so much time of scrubbing to clean.
