Bienvenue à Paris - Part deux

I can talk about Paris for so long that I felt I needed to split the blog post into two. I have already gone through my reasons for falling in love with Paris in the last post, as well as our experiences with the French Open and our cooking class.

We decided to try out air BnB for the first time, and wow was it worth it! My one requirement was to have a balcony that we could sit outside on with a glass of wine, and boy did it deliver! This is a panoramic picture of our view as i'm standing on our balcony. And yes, it had a veryyyy small view of the top of the Eiffel Tower, but hey.. i'll take anything!

On our third day in Paris, which also happened to be our 4 year anniversary of our first date (ok, i've been told that once you're married, your wedding day is the 'anniversary'... but why not celebrate both??) we wanted to spend the day doing all of the wonderfully touristy things. First stop: the Eiffel Tower of course! (we were told the lines could get crazy long, so the earlier you go the better). Honestly the line looked long, but we were probably through it in 30 minutes.

Next on the "Favorite things" day in Paris we of course had to stop at Laduree. For all those who know me, I am absolutely in love with French Macarons... and the first place i've ever tried one was at a Laduree in Paris 7 years ago. I have been hooked ever since.

Can you tell I'm just a bit excited? They have the most wonderful pastries, but lets be honest... the reason i'm here is for the macarons. First, a few photos with the macarons... then we must find the perfect place to have our first taste. In front of the Louvre will do!

For dinner we took the advice of one of my best-most trusted-foodie friends, Tracy, and went to a place called Bouillon Chartier. This is what Tracy would call a "down and dirty" restaurant. aka ... no frills.. not fancy... they seat you with other people.. they write your order on the paper tablecloth.. but delicious typical French Food which is exactly what we wanted. There are no reservations so you have to stand in line which moved fast and took about 30 minutes, which was perfect because we were STARVING.

Our last day in Paris we only had a few hours before hopping on a plane so we used this time to soak in the last bits of the city.  With some fresh croissants, quiche & espressos in our belly we headed off to the Eiffel Tower to watch a quick Roland Garros match. Everyone was picnicking with fresh baguettes and white wine, sitting on the grass watching a tennis match with the Eiffel Tower in the background, it couldn't have been more perfect.

Paris is by far our favorite city, and we are already looking forward to going back at some point!
